The devil's favorite verse in the Bible - Part 3
Even atheists are asking "where is the church"?
In my last post, I listed the excuses given to me by church attendees and church leaders to justify their refusal to obey Bible commands. Bible verses that tell us we are obligated to speak out with our words and actions against the wickedness happening in our communities and around the world. This by no means an exhaustive list, as the magical unicorn hoops believers will jump through in order to justify their cowardice are unending. This is simply a short list of the excuses or lies given to me personally:
1 - “Jesus did not correct the political leaders.”
2 - “Render to Caesar what is Caesars”
3 - “We aren’t supposed to be zealots.”
4 - “Taking the vax isn’t a sin.” (why it may or may not be a sin, I explained in a previous post)
5 - “We don’t believe in home meetings.”
6 - “We aren’t talking about covid anymore, it’s not the Gospel”
7 - “I don’t mix politics with religion”
8 - “I don’t believe that Bible verse is talking about this.” [covid/division]
The murderous Vladimir Lenin, one of the most satanic men in history said:
These lies that church people often repeat, and believe, have been spoken in thousands of conversations, and EVEN preached from pulpits! Millions of people have died because the church has repeated and believed these lies.
It is of the utmost importance that these lies must be exposed. I will be dealing with each lie, and explaining what the Bible says about each lie, and why it is a lie, or an excuse, or both.
Ephesians 5:11 tells us:
“Have nothing to do with the deeds of evil and darkness, instead rebuke and expose them.”
We will expose the lies, and rebuke them.
1 – The “Jesus did not correct political leaders” Excuse/Lie
There was no separation of church and state in the nation of Israel. The religious laws were the political laws – the political laws were the religious laws - there was no distinction. In the Old Testament book of Leviticus 24:16 we read: “Whoever blasphemes the name of the Lord shall surely be put to death. All the congregation shall stone him. The sojourner as well as the native, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death.”
The sin of blasphemy was punishable by stoning, and the government did not implement the punishment. The community implemented the punishment. In the book of Luke: 4:28-30 we read about the first sermon Jesus preached in his hometown synagogue.
“On hearing this, all the people in the synagogue were enraged. They got up, drove Him [Jesus]out of the town, and led Him to the brow of the hill on which the town was built, in order to throw Him over the cliff. But Jesus passed through the crowd and went on His way.”
Notice the text does NOT SAY “They went and got permission from the Romans to kill Jesus.” The Jewish law permitted and expected the political/religious leaders and community to execute people that were found guilty of crimes.
Now that we have established that the leaders were political leaders as well as religious leaders, we must now look at HOW Jesus corrected the political/religious leaders. In Matthew chapter 23, we read probably one of the most brutal public take-downs of any group of political/religious group in history. I will only share highlights; however, I really encourage you to go and read it for yourself. The Scripture records that Jesus called the political/religious leaders: Hypocrites, Sons of Hell, Blind Guides, Blind Fools, Snakes, and Vipers. In Luke chapter 11, we read that Jesus told the Pharisees they were full of greed and wickedness, and called them Fools. As if Jesus was clueless, in verse 45 we read that the Pharisees made sure to tell Jesus he was offending them. Rather than apologizing for offending them, Jesus pronounces additional sins they are guilty of (DOUBLES DOWN) and then calls them Murderers! Jesus was not kind and gentle to the political/religious leaders. He did not “turn the other cheek” with them, and He certainly did not make any excuses for their evil and wickedness. In Luke chapter 16, verse 15, Jesus went on to say to the political/religious leaders: “You like to look good in public, but God knows your evil hearts.”
Jesus was not just another Tony Robbins or a self-help guru like Gandhi.
The people were amazed and astounded by his public speaking. We read in Matthew 7: 28 “When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, for he taught with real authority—quite unlike their teachers of religious law.” Notice the people observed that Jesus taught unlike the political/religious leaders. Also, in Matthew 13:48 we read: “He [Jesus] went to his hometown and began to teach them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, “Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?”
The teaching of Jesus was so full of WISDOM, that it was noticeably different that the teaching of the political/religious leaders.
Why were the words of Jesus filled with such power and wisdom? We read why in Luke 4:14 “Then Jesus returned to Galilee, filled with the Holy Spirit’s power. Reports about him spread quickly through the whole region.” Jesus preached with power because He was filled with the Holy Spirit. This makes it clear to us that one of the hallmarks of anointed preaching from the Holy Spirit is severe rebukes and corrections of the political/religious leaders. This is not to say that all of Jesus teaching was like this; however, often even the stories Jesus told were rebukes to the political/religious leaders. The Parable of the Two Sons, the Parable of the Evil Farmers, the Parable of the Good Samaritan, and the Parable of the Great Feast were all corrections of the political/religious leaders.
Many people sadly try to make this excuse: “Jesus was God so we can’t preach like that.” To these excuses we look to the Bible for an answer. In 1 Cor 11:1, the Apostle Paul commands believers “And you should imitate me, just as I imitate Christ.” Our preaching and teaching should be the same as Jesus. For those that think this is an isolated concept, we read in Luke 3:19 and 20: “John [the Baptist] also PUBLICLY criticized Herod Antipas, ruler of Galilee, for marrying Herodias, his brother’s wife, and for many other wrongs he had done. So Herod put John in prison, adding this sin to his many others.” This gives us an example that Jesus was not the only man who publicly called out the political/religious authorities, and these are examples that the church is commanded to follow. There are 23 prophets in the entire Old Testament from Elijah to Malachi. ALL of these prophets spoke out publicly to correct the evil and wickedness of the political and religious leaders.
2 – The “Render to Caesar” Excuse/Lie
In the book Mark 12:17 KJV “And Jesus answering said unto them, ‘Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.’ And they marveled at him.” The Pharisees were trying to hit Jesus with a trick question. In this verse, Jesus tells the people they must pay taxes to Caesar, BUT they must give to God what is God’s. The abuse of the Bible in this manner is especially egregious. In this verse, Jesus is specifically speaking about taxes, yet many people twist this to mean “we are supposed to do anything the wicked government tells us to do.” While the verse does say we are supposed to “render to Caesar” what belongs to Caesar, we are also commanded by Jesus to “render to God’s what is God’s!” There is no excuse here to blindly obey Caesar – especially if Caesar is commanding you to disobey God! We are commanded to Love God and love our neighbor. This is giving to God what is God’s. “Rendering to God” means obeying God’s commands. If these two things are in conflict, then God takes priority. In Psalms 125:3 we read “The wicked will not rule over the godly, for then the godly might be forced to do wrong.” NLT If you are interested in further examples of Biblical civil disobedience, you can see some here https://billmuehlenberg.com/2021/03/24/12-biblical-cases-of-civil-disobedience/
3 – The “We aren’t supposed to be zealots” Excuse/Lie
While this might not be an extremely well-known excuse, many of the excuses made by the church are rooted in this lie, so we must address this. In Luke 6:15, the Bible makes a list of the disciples. In this list, one of the disciples is called “Simon the Zealot”. Zealots were Jewish assassins. A number of radical Jews believed that Jews were obligated to physically oppose Roman rule. For example, if you were a Jewish tax collector, you could potentially be a target of assassination by a Jewish Zealot, since in their wrong thinking they thought you were betraying your own people by collecting taxes for the Romans. Roman soldiers or leaders could also be a target. The power and cruelty of Rome was a big motivator in discouraging zealots from murdering any Romans. The typical zealot knew that if they rose up against Rome, it would most likely be a suicide mission. In some ways, the Jewish Zealot would be similar to a radical Muslim Terrorist today. It is widely unknown that in many Muslim nations, people who are not “radical” enough for the terrorists become targets as they are believed to be cowards or betrayers of their faith.
As I stated before, I have never advocated for violence.
We are obligated to follow the example of Jesus, and while He did speak out forcefully and bluntly against the political/religious leaders, Jesus did not gather a physical army to rise up against Rome. On the surface, the “We aren’t supposed to be zealots” excuse might at first appear to be quite a silly excuse – and it is – there is something much deeper and insidious to this excuse. It is another way of saying “as believers, we are not supposed to be radical murderous extremists.” Agreed.
We as believers are not supposed to be radical murderous extremists.
Of course, this would only be relevant if someone was actually advocating for this wrong way of responding to government tyranny! So first, the lie is designed to paint the person that does not comply with government evil as an extremist. This tactic is designed to discredit the messenger, as a way of attempting to also discredit the message. My next post will deal with this in much greater detail.
4 - The “Taking the vax isn’t a sin.” Excuse/Lie
(I dealt with this in great detail in my previous post called “Is taking the vax a sin?”)
5 - “We don’t believe in home meetings.” Excuse/Lie
If I sound a bit harsh by making this statement, may I say this. This statement was not an excuse or a lie per se. In my opinion (I could be wrong) it was picking the option of the low road as opposed to taking the high road. In Acts 2:46 we read: “And they, continuing daily with one accord in the Temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,” The Bible clearly states that believers met in the Temple (church building, synagogue) and they also met in houses. I fully agree that we are supposed to meet in churches each week as the Bible commands us. In Hebrews 10:25 we read “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” In this particular situation, the person was believing that having a home meeting was “replacing church”. I do not find any place in the Bible that supports the idea of creating a home meeting to “replace church”, and therefore cannot support this concept.
I do not in any way advocate for replacing church with a “home meeting”.
That said, keep in mind that Sunday morning will never be enough food to feed you for a week. Do you eat meals only one day per week? Of course not. Likewise, in Matt 4:4, Jesus said “…Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that precedes from the mouth of God.” Spiritual food is in some ways more important than physical food. Home meetings are a great way to build your faith, build relationships which in central to the life of a believer. Home meetings are a great way to dig deep into important spiritual topics that are often not discussed on Sunday, or whatever day of the week your church meets. It is of utmost importance that home meetings are NEVER replacing attending church on a regular basis, and that the topics discussed are not attempts by leaders or individuals to draw people away from the church to build their own following. Operating in this manner is actually of great offense to God. In Proverbs 6: 16-19 we read that “God hates… A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.” In other words, God hates people who do things that create disharmony or cause brothers and sisters in the church of God to not get along. I found this great list that give 10 important reasons for church.
Literally, a stand-alone book could be written about God’s many, many reasons for church, what the word church really means, what God’s intentions for church are etc. I could write an additional post exploring this important topic. If enough people request it, I will. We are doing home meetings not to replace church, but to specifically teach people specifically about these important topics that 99% of the church in Canada is REFUSING to preach due to traditions and fear. In Mark 7:13, Jesus said “…Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition…” Jesus tells us that CULTure [tradition] can make the Word of God of no effect. It is impossible to measure the extreme damage that Canadian traditions have done to the lives of believers and non-believers – traditions that oppose what Jesus taught in the Bible. 200 years ago, Pastors preached against slavery in Britain, even though slavery was supported by the government. Over time, the efforts of the church were successful in abolishing slavery. Slavery was a MORAL issue – not a political issue. Can you see the difference?
At this point and time in our nation, and EXTREMELY low percentage of Pastors in this country refuse to preach on controversial topics. How else are people supposed to be taught the truth about these subjects?
The current government attacks on freedom of speech are making it impossible to share these truths without getting arrested for “hate crimes”. The only way that we have left is in home meetings. This is so atrocious that even atheists are asking where is the church!
Please contact us if you would like us to come and do a home meeting for you.
6 - “We aren’t talking about covid anymore, it’s not the Gospel” Excuse/Lie
At first glance, the “covid is not the Gospel” statement may seem innocuous and harmless. It also sounds religious, which is exactly how it is intended to sound. While it may be true that “covid is not the Gospel”, this excuse is an attempt at deflection, and…
it is precisely what makes this excuse one of the most insidious and dangerous ones.
We are warned about teachings that sound pious and wonderful - but are anything but. In Proverbs 18:17 we read: “Any story sound right until someone sets the record straight.” The statement “covid is not the Gospel” is designed to sound wonderful and religious. It is suggesting that since “covid is not the Gospel”, the somehow we are forbidden to talk about it. First, this would be advocating censorship. Second, how exactly would you define “talking about the Gospel?”
Is “talking about the Gospel” defined only about Jesus and His sacrifice on the Cross?
Communism thrives by changing the meanings of word WITHOUT changing the words themselves. What is the definition of “the Gospel”?
Jesus constantly talked about subjects that were not specifically about sin, His future death on the Cross, or salvation. Jesus constantly talked about money, politics, and religion. Can you define politics, money, or religion as “the Gospel”? If we are going to preach like Jesus, we will often be talking about subjects that may not specifically mention sin and the Cross, and therefore would not fit someone’s definition of “preaching the Gospel.” If you define “the Gospel” as God’s way of doing right, being right and thinking right, then almost any discussion about God’s point of view on any topic is in practice, preaching “the Gospel”. Jesus tells a story of the Good Samaritan. The story is about two religious men who walk by a man beaten, robbed, and left for dead in the ditch. The two religious people walked by and did nothing, but the Good Samaritan stopped and bandaged his wounds and took the man to a shelter for further treatment and paid for his expenses. Preaching “The Gospel” means taking care of the widow and the orphan. The Bible tells us in the book of James that faith without works is dead. “Preaching The Gospel” is defined as what we say AND what we do. Preaching the Gospel is defined as helping the poor, teaching properly about what the Bible says about managing your finances, how you treat people, how to operate well in marriage, how to resolve differences and every other topic important to God.
Jesus constantly criticized the religious people for talking about religious things – things that were not actually talking about God. Clearly one of the most dangerous things we can do as teachers is have wrong ideas about what “the “Gospel” is.
Was Jesus “preaching the Gospel” when he flipped the tables in the Temple on two different occasions?
In John 2:19 and Luke 19:46 when Jesus flipped tables, did the disciples rush over and correct Jesus? Did the disciples rush over to Jesus and say “Jesus, stop flipping tables because ‘that’s not the Gospel’.” Of course they didn’t correct him, because that would be ridiculous. Jesus was preaching the Gospel! Jesus talked about money, politics, and religion. In fact, a case could be made that these were almost exclusively the only subjects Jesus spoke about! Many people would define “the Gospel” as only talking about Jesus and His substitutionary sacrifice on the Cross. In James 1:27 however, the Bible gives us a larger perspective. “Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.” Clearly Jesus is telling us in His Word that there are many more things under the umbrella of “the Gospel”, then these people want to admit. Your actions are also expression of “preaching the Gospel.”
In the book of James 2: 17 we read: “So too, faith by itself, if it does not result in action, is dead.”
While some will complain that talking about covid is not the Gospel, there is something very important they are missing here. In Canada the only leaders that were arrested were Christian Pastors.
I may have missed it, but I am not aware of a single Imam or a single Rabbi in the entire country that was arrested.
Everyone was allowed to go to Home Depot, Walmart, and Superstore, but for some reason churches were closed. Casinos were allowed. Apparently covid could only get people in church, but covid could not get anyone in Home Depot, Walmart or Superstore? There are multiple legal cases that showed that the mandates were not only illegal, but also very selectively enforced. We saw violent riots with Antifa and Black Lives Matter groups committing wanton destruction and arson, and no covid or mandate tickets were handed out to them. Yet a peaceful community wishes to gather and the RCMP are out in full force. Do you get it yet? Do you understand?
These were politically motivated, satanic hate crimes against the church. Aren’t hate crimes illegal?
Apparently they aren’t illegal when the government is committing these crimes.
What is the church? What is its mandate? What is the purpose for its existence? TO PREACH THE GOSPEL. Covid mandates were deliberate attempts to stop the preaching of the Gospel. There is a famous saying “Never let a crisis to go to waste”. We have wicked people from Obama to Hillary Clinton, to Saul Alinsky to Rahm Emmanuel saying it. Their application of this means using crisis to implement further government control over the people – control that people would not normally accept, but because they were sold the control as the “solution to the crisis.” https://www.foxnews.com/politics/rahm-emanuel-on-coronavirus-response-never-allow-a-crisis-to-go-to-waste
The government and its minions with a Luciferian agenda used the illegal mandates to limit the preaching and expression of the Gospel.
Are you seeing this? Are you Awake?
We are talking about covid precisely BECAUSE the goal was to use it to stop the preaching of the Gospel! Yes covid was tyrannical, Yes, covid was an attack on freedom to travel, but the most dangerous thing covid was an attack on Freedom of Speech, which is an attack on the Gospel!
The entire PURPOSE of Freedom of Speech in the United States Constitution was to protect the preaching of the Gospel!
The United States was founded by people fleeing religious persecution in Europe, and their goal was to establish a new nation where people could worship God without fear of government persecution.
Smart atheists understand that Christians are their best friend.
In 100 countries around the world, if you publicly say there is no God, they will cut your head off. The safest, most free place in the world to publicly say “there is no God” is America where they have the First and most important Amendment: Freedom of Speech. When the Founding Fathers enshrined Freedom of Speech in the Constitution, it applied to EVERYONE, not just people who believed in God and wanted to be free to share the Gospel. Therefore, while it may be true that “covid is not the Gospel”, this statement is at best a very uniformed excuse, or at worst, a very dangerous lie.
7 – The “I don’t mix politics with religion” Excuse/Lie.
We have already established that Jesus mixed politics and religion when He addressed the evil behavior of political/religious leaders publicly. There is much more to this, however. The government has actively and very successfully managed to get the church to believe that any area that the government attempts to force its way into is political, therefore the church “must” obey it. Again, we quote Lenin. “A lie repeated often enough becomes the truth.” This lie has been repeated in churches for 500 years without push-back – this is why this lie has become so powerful. In Romans 13:1 we read “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.” As I wrote in an earlier post, Hitler exploited this verse to make it mean something entirely than the Bible intended.
Is anyone really going to try claim that God wanted everyone to do nothing while Hitler murdered 6 million people? Good. I was hoping not.
Therefore, we know the German church was wrong when it used a false interpretation of Romans 13:1 as an excuse to do nothing. In earlier posts I shared how Hosea 8:4 totally demolishes the false argument that “God has put all wicked tyrannical governments in place.” In Hosea 8:4 we read “They [people] have made kings, but not by Me [God], they have made princes, and I [God] knew them not.” In Lamentations 3:35 we read “They [leaders] deprived the people of their God-given rights, in defiance of the Most High [God].”
This Bible verse makes it clear that 1) Human rights come from God – not from government. 2) Any government that deprives people of the God-given rights is in defiance of God Himself!
If the government wants to build a road – that is a “political” issue. If the government wants to murder babies – that is a MORAL issue and the government does not have the authority of God to promote this. If the government want to us use MAID (Medical Assistance In Dying) to murder vets so they don’t have to support them financially, that is a MORAL issue. If the government seeks to murder poor people by offering them MAID to solve their problems instead fixing the economy so the poor can help themselves - this is MORAL issue, and the government does not have the authority of God to enforce this. These are MORAL issues, and the government HAS NO JURISDICTION!
We read in Psalms 94:20 “Can unjust leaders claim that God is on their side – leaders that permit injustice by their laws?”
If it weren’t so insanely evil, I would find it comical that Pierre Trudeau famously said "Take this thing on homosexuality. The view we take is, there's no place for the state in the bedrooms of the nation. What's done in private between adults doesn't concern the Criminal Code."
https://www.cbc.ca/archives/no-place-for-the-state-in-the-bedrooms-of-the-nation-1.4681298
What is so evil, is although Pierre famously said, “there is no place for the state in the bedrooms of the nation”, his son,
Justin Trudeau, is using the same government that ‘has no place in the bedroom’ to force his way into the bedrooms, schools, and churches of this country by making it ILLEGAL to call a boy a boy, and LEGAL to call a boy a girl!
This is what happened with Bill C4. I wrote extensively on this on my earlier post titled Gender “Affirming” Care? – Part 3
https://letsgobrandonpringle.substack.com/p/gender-affirming-care-part-3
Jesus and God have made it abundantly clear that the “I don’t mix politics and religion” excuse – is just that – it is another religious sounding excuse, which makes it all the more evil. It is a lie built upon false application of the Bible. A false application based on a want or need to absolve the individual who repeat it of their Biblical obligations and responsibility.
8 – The “I don’t believe that Bible verse is talking about this [covid/division]. ” Excuse/Lie
I went for coffee during the middle of covid lockdowns with a pastor. A pastor that has traveled all over the word preaching. We met in a place that was standing up against the tyrannical mandates in force at the time – mandates that were eventually correctly deemed illegal by the court. I was attempting to awaken this Pastor to the reality that this covid agenda was not “simply a story about a virus,” and there was a much larger agenda at play. I opened my Bible to Luke 12: 51-53 and read to this Pastor: “Do you think I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I have come to divide people against each other! From now on families will be split apart, three in favor of me, and two against—or two in favor and three against. ‘Father will be divided against son and son against father; mother against daughter and daughter against mother; and mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.” I shared this with the Pastor, and he replied, “I don’t believe that applies to this [covid]”.
At face value, I agree that these specific verses in the Bible are not specifically referring to covid, but these verses are referring to how belief in Jesus Christ (or the rejection of Jesus Christ) will split families apart in the end times.
Many family relationships will be tested as people are forced to choose sides. As evil increases, the reality that there is no such thing as a fence – will become blatantly obvious. In the end times that we are in right now, people are now being forced to choose. Good or evil. Team Jesus or Team satan. JP Sears explained his journey in this amazing video.
My goal with this Pastor was not to convince him the Bible was specifically talking “about covid.” My goal with this Pastor was simply to open his eyes to the reality that the covid agenda was much bigger than “a virus running around”. The covid agenda was clearly causing unbelievable damage to communities of believers, to churches, and to families. This was the point.
The point was to recognize that the entire covid scheme was a satanic agenda to cause division and destroy families, communities, and churches.
God hates division. In Malachi we read: “For I hate divorce!” says the LORD, the God of Israel” Malachi 2:16 We also read in the book of Proverbs 6:19 “God hates… a false witness who pours out lies, [and] a person who sows discord in a family.” The much larger covid agenda was to cause division. If our goal as the church is to create UNITY, then the church MUST be on guard against anything that obviously causes division. The problem with the church is that they are for the most part totally unaware of the true definition of UNITY. Communism has been extremely effective in subverting the language.
The church uses the word UNITY, but what they actually mean in practice is UNIFORMITY.
The Bible tells us in Ephesians 4:13 “Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:” The important phrase here is UNITY IN THE FAITH. “Unity in the faith” means that we all believe the same correct things about Jesus. UNIFORMITY means we pretend everything is fine, and force people to believe what we tell them and refuse to discuss it if they object. That is not UNITY, that is UNIFORMITY and in some ways it is a form of manipulation which the Bible refers to as witchcraft.I tried to explain to this Pastor that in order to have UNITY, we teach people the facts about covid, and what the Bible tells us.
When everyone in the church hears the truth, UNITY is created because we all believe the truth. The TRUTH is the great UNIFIER.
We understand that there are people who will refuse to accept the TRUTH, and this will cause them to leave the church. Jesus told the people in John 6:53 “So Jesus said again, “I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you cannot have eternal life within you.” Obviously Jesus was not talking about literally eating His flesh and blood. The Bible tells us that many people were offended and walked away. Jesus DI NOT CHASE them. We are supposed to teach and preach LIKE JESUS, and Jesus did not shy away from controversial subjects, rather HE EMBRACED THEM! If people walk away when controversial things are preached or taught, this is a problem with the person – not the teaching!
Thanks for checking in. If there are spiritual, political, cultural, or world events you would like me to post about, please leave a comment.
More important than anything I have shared today, is the Truth that is in Jesus. If you desire Truth to come into your life, ask Jesus to come into your life.
The Bible tells us: “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. As the Scriptures tell us, anyone who trusts in Him will never be disgraced.”
Romans 10: 9-11

i removed your post. giving unsolicited spiritual advice is a sign of spiritual immaturity as you know. if you wish to correct me, do so clearly according to the Bible. The Catholic standard is not the Bible alone, but first and foremost Jesus himself. Who sent his disciples out with nothing, and still does.
